“Mnimes” (Memories) Society, established in 1994, is widely known for its cultural work in the fields of research , publishing , archives , and production of large-scale concerts and multi-spectacles concerning Modern Greek History and Cultural Heritage.
Our society’s goal is “ to obtain and promote the knowledge of national and international history by discovering and using unpublished material implementing modern technology”. More specifically, its aim is to combine archival research, journalism, artistic creation and information technology.
Our archives consist of a wealth of unpublished documents related to Modern Greek history and culture. Our office is located in a newly-renovated neo-classical building at 10 Granikou Str., in the historical Kerameikos district of Athens. One of our immediate goals is to develop a state-of-the-art research center, where any researcher can come and access these archives. Moreover, our own associates creatively process part of these archives making them more accessible to the general public.
